For clients who are unable to receive massage, you can still benefit from aromatherapy. I offer blends of creams, oils and bath and shower products for home use. These are bespoke products, often containing organic ingredients, and formulated specifically for the individual following a clinical appraisal.
To purchase ‘off the shelf’ products, I can recommend 'Ki To Harmony'. Their website is listed on the menu to the left, on the ‘Links’ page.
I also offer handmade wheatbags…
WHEATBAGS
What are they?
Wheatbags are similar in appearance to small beanbags. They are cloth bags filled with wheat and lavender which, upon heating for a few minutes in the microwave or oven, produce a therapeutic effect when applied to the body. The bags are natural, easy to use, and non-invasive.
Once heated, wheatbags can be used in a similar way to a hot water bottle, as they will stay warm for some time. They mould themselves around your body, providing comfort and support.
How can I use my wheatbag?
Heated wheat bags and cold pack wheat bags give pain relief for backs, bones, joints and muscles. Ideal for back pain, cramps, arthritis and rheumatism; they are wonderful in bed for cold feet and suitable for use by people of all ages.
Alternatively, cool in the refrigerator or freezer in a plastic bag and use as a cold compress to get relief for sports injuries, bumps, swellings, insect bites, bruises, headaches, migraines, etc. Use externally anywhere on the body, hot or cold, to give ‘drug free’ pain relief.
Wheatbags are great for everyday tensions – just apply to any aching part of your body for 10 minutes, and this will soothe your pain. Or just wrap a warm wheatbag around your neck whilst you have a sit down. The scent of lavender will calm you and aid a good night’s sleep.
The wheatbag is particularly helpful for pregnant women, athletes and anyone with a sore neck, back or knees. The bags have also been successfully used with autistic children, who respond well to the weight and aroma of the bags.
Wheatbags can also be kept in a plastic bag in the freezer and used in place of a cold pack for strains and sprains.
Please note, I will be out of action from 18th March until 14th April 2010. No bookings or orders will be dealt with during this time. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
