WHAT TO EXPECT

From soothing face massage to aromatic footbaths, treatments take place in a warm, relaxing atmosphere; a space where you will feel nurtured. Click here for a couple of photographs of the treatment room. There is a small, free carpark located a couple of minutes down the road. A map will be sent to you when you book. The treatment room is accessible for wheelchair users.

Prior to your first treatment, I take a comprehensive (and confidential) case history to discuss and establish your needs.  Each subsequent session will begin with a brief update on your current state of health, followed by appropriate treatment.

Please note; I provide therapeutic NON-SEXUAL massage and bodywork only.  Most massage techniques are carried out with the client in their underwear.  You will be draped with towels to maintain your modesty and keep you comfortable and warm.  Only the area being worked on will be exposed.  A typical ‘full body’ treatment includes back, legs, feet, arms, hands, head, neck, shoulders and face.  However, you have the option to leave out any part of the body which you do not like to have touched.  This will be discussed with you during your pre-massage assessment.

As a member of IFPA, I always abide by their Code of Conduct. This can be viewed by clicking here (link should open in a new window).

When the massage has ended, you are not expected to leap off the couch and out of the door. I would suggest that you spend a further 5-10 minutes lying on the couch in order to carry on benefitting from your massage experience and to bring you gently back to reality.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need approval from my GP?
In some instances, your GP may refer you for massage/aromatherapy.  In other instances, GP permission may be required prior to treatment.  This will be decided either when you telephone or at your first appointment.  If your condition warrants consulting your GP, it is important that you also work with your doctor to achieve the best possible results.

How / When can I book a treatment?
I try to stick to regular 'office hours', but if you require a weekend appointment, it's always worth giving me a call as I might be able to fit you in.   The last appointment of the day is 17:30.  Please see the Contact Page for details of how to book.

How much will treatment cost?
Prices range from £15 for a bespoke product to £45 for full body massage lasting 2 hours (inc. consultation time).  As client needs differ, no two treatments are ever quite the same. I do not robotically follow a routine, then turf you out of the door when a certain amount of time is up. What your money gets you is a massage that will effect you on a deep cellular level, along with the time you need to truly benefit and unwind... That said, you can get a bit more of an idea on pricing from the listing at the bottom of the Gift Vouchers page.

What if I need to cancel?
Unless there is an emergency, it is requested that you cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance or pay the missed appointment fee in full.

How often should I have a treatment?
The number of treatments required varies with individual clients’ needs.  Once initial health problems have improved, most clients opt for a regular monthly massage in order to maintain and boost their immune system.  In the event that a client's health does not improve after the first 6 sessions, a different approach is usually advised.
